1 night for newbie+fewbie
1 night for inter
2 nights for advance
Thank you Faheem!
I have just one last question - is newbie/fewbie convoy staying together during the drives, or there will be two separate convoys?
Sorry for bothering, I’m trying to decide which convoy to join (I wish there’s a fewbie/inter option, it would make things so much easier :( )
newbie/fewbie will be one convoy but the terrain will give you enough fun, my advice to you is to join newbie/fewbie considering your car.

If it is Ok for the marshals I will go witg intermediate convoy group. I can't wait to discover Liwa for first time.
I plan to go to Liwa this afternoon and find a place to camp for the night. Anyone else camping tonight?

Please advise why we have to pay a 200 AED fee to take this trip if we have already paid our 300 AED annual membership?
The AED200/- fees is the discounted fee that is applicable ONLY for those members who have paid the AED300/- fees, due to the simple fact that these members are at least 1 star, so will require less effort to guide/ rescue.
The normal fees for newbies and one off trippers is AED300/-

IT IS A WIN WIN SITUATION, EITHER WAY, SINCE THE DISCOUNTED FEE STRUCTURE WILL BE COMMON ACROSS ALL DO OVERNIGHT/ EXPEDITION TYPE DRIVES, AND IT IS VERY WELL POSSIBLE FOR A REGULAR PARTICIPANT ON SUCH DRIVES TO RECOVER MUCH MORE THAN THE AED300/- PAID AS MEMBERSHIP FEES.
I’m confused the trip details state “FREE OF CHARGE(for DO paid Members, 1 star & above members, for members who have paid the DO annual membership fee )”. Has this changed?

It is Free for paid members, and there's a charge of AED300.00 for each member vehicle who have not paid the annual membership charges. It is free for you Hafid, since you have paid the membership charges.

There are only 5 members in the Newbie convoy, who have to pay. These are siku1985, merrico, Mirza1, jose and ashrough2001. Please carry cash with you and hand it over to Sebastien Nicolas, the Lead Marshal, prior to the beginning of the drive.

Newbie fewbie trip.
The organisation looked challenging at 1st. We had 13 cars of a very mixed group, Newbies, Fewbies, kids and family and people looking forward to long ridges in the sands.
Sahil arrived with a bit of an injury om his harm flowing his night in the hotel.

@Sahil, @Francisa and @Frankyno did an amazing job at sweeping and teaching recoveries. :ymapplause:

We did one convoy, using a "buddy" system :ymhug: , each "one star and up" were looking after 1 newbie, and doing the recoveries under supervision of the sweep team.
The sweep team still did the technical recoveries so every one was fairly busy.

As a result, we saw over the course of the 2 days the skill level, and the confidence level significantly improving. (the fewbies and up improved their recovery skills, while the newbies improved their driving skills).
We covered a lot of distance, we kept the schedule for every one.
You guys were a great team, it was a pleasure driving with you, well done!

:drive: :drive: :drive:
:thanks:
